Our client is responsible for meeting the
information technology (IT) needs of various business departments.
As such, our candidate must understand the assigned department’s
business processes, procedures, computer applications, and IT
requirements in order to help them efficiently and effectively
achieve their goals.
Contractor responsibilities include:
1. Overseeing the overall delivery and maintenance of the
department’s applications. 2. Facilitation of new application
acquisition/development. 3. Facilitation of other IT-related
services. 4. Coordination of IT application support
personnel. 5. Collaboration with application users in identifying
technology changes and/or enhancements. 6. Identification and
possible development of solutions that promote the efficient sharing
of information and processes throughout the departments. 7. The
development, as needed, of requisite cost benefits analyses to
promote, socialize, and manage recommended solutions. 8. Working
with outside agencies in the formulation of requests. At all
times, the contractor will ensure that recommended IT solutions are
consistent with our clients IT standards and
policies.
Skill Requirements
Thorough knowledge
and understanding of information technology concepts and
technologies and computer systems hardware and software is
required. Must be knowledgeable of relational database concepts
and able to relate them to application data modeling
situations. Must have experience in the development of relevant
cost benefit analyses Excellent verbal and written communication

skills Ability to build and maintain employee and customer

Experience:
8 years of experience
with 3 years in developing project/program management, to include
overseeing a broad scope of projects, system analysis and extensive
interaction at all levels of staff and management; including ongoing
support and maintenance. Prior experience demonstrating effective
teamwork, collaboration (both as a member and as a leader) in the
development, coordination and implementation of a large, complex
project is required, preferably in an information systems
environment in a government setting. Experience with resource
management and budget development Experience using a formal
software development methodology
Education
Bachelor’s
Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related
field is required; a Masters degree is desirable.
Title: PeopleSoft Programmer
(Detroit,
MI)
Pay rate: $25.00 - $36.00 Per Hour.
Overview: Our client is replacing their current
mainframe based Personnel/Payroll system with PeopleSoft (version
8.x). The modules that will be implemented include Human Resources,
Payroll, Budget, and Benefits.
To assist our client with the
implementation, a vendor has been hired to oversee the technical
requirements of the conversion. Therefore, working with our client
staff, and the implementation vendor, we are developing an
implementation team consisting of various technical resources. This
includes a PeopleSoft Programmer/Analyst, who is needed to implement
system modifications and customizations, including, but not limited
to interfaces, new reports and on-line objects.
Specific
Services: Performs migration of all PeopleSoft customizations and
modifications Reviews and enforces all technical standards
Works closely with the DBA to resolve technical issues Aids
functional users in resolving functional issues with minimal impact
to the database Works closely with the DBA to insure the
PeopleSoft Process Schedulers remain "Up" Works closely with the
DBA to insure the Application Servers remain Works closely with
the DBA to implement any SQL requests/changes Insures that the
processes in the Process Monitor are routinely "cleaned" as to not
impact performance Follows our clients standard methodology for
managing project migrations Tracks issues and their resolutions
in a central repository Manages system Setup tables Schedule
milestone backups of data, programs, and files is a focal point of
contact for all PeopleSoft related technical issues and
issue-resolution Suggests solutions for suggested changes etc in
a manner consistent with PeopleSoft recommendations of minimal
impact to the existing software and programs
